Do I need any previous qualifications?
For most courses, no previous qualifications are required. Access to Higher Education courses are specifically designed for adults who don't have traditional A-levels. Functional Skills courses have no entry requirements. Some Level 5 courses may require a Level 3 qualification — check the specific course page for details.
How long do courses take?
It depends on the course and how much time you can commit. Access to HE typically takes 9–12 months. Level 3 professional qualifications take 6–12 months. Functional Skills can be completed in as little as 6–12 weeks. You study at your own pace, so you can finish faster or take longer — there's no rush.
Is the qualification nationally recognised?
Yes. All Qualvera courses lead to nationally accredited qualifications recognised by employers, universities, and professional bodies across the UK. Access to HE diplomas are accepted by universities including Russell Group institutions.
